The Healthcare Surfaces Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding and implementing multimodal solutions that will mitigate the spread of microbes that cause deadly infections in healthcare facilities.
Our work is done through various task forces and volunteers interested in rolling up their sleeves and helping to facilitate the changes needed to make healthcare facilities safe. Our goal is to create sustainable change based on scientific evidence.
Learn & Spread the Message
Learn how surfaces in healthcare facilities transmit HAIs and how to prevent them via access to our educational programs, experts, and resources – and then use this knowledge to inform your own practices and encourage others to do so.
Volunteer
We want to tap into the expertise of our members! Qualified members may participate in HSI research, help create guidelines, present in webinars, join focus groups, committees, etc.
Support
Provide ongoing financial support for our work through your annual membership dues.
General Membership
$30/YEAR
Open to anyone who is interested in learning about the issue of surfaces and wishes to learn, participate in discussions, ask questions, and provide input.
General Members get:
- Access to the HSI private LinkedIn Discussion Group
If you apply for and are accepted to a Task Force, you will receive a one-time $30.00 refund on your membership for your in-kind donation.
Healthcare Membership
$99/YEAR
Open to professionals working in a healthcare facility, such as infection preventionists, environmental services, value analysts, nurses, etc.
In addition to the benefits of general membership, Healthcare Members have the opportunity to:
- Apply for committees/task forces appointed by the Board of Directors (NDA required)
- Author/co-author articles, including (but not limited to) peer-reviewed journal articles
- Gain early access to HSI research, white papers, and case studies
If you apply for and are accepted to a Task Force, you will receive a one-time $30.00 refund on your membership for your in-kind donation.
Associate Membership
$300/YEAR
Open to those who do not work within a healthcare facility but in a related field, such as manufacturer representatives, consultants, etc.
In addition to the benefits of general membership, Associate Members have the opportunity to:
- Apply for committees/task forces appointed by the Board of Directors (NDA required)
- Gain early access to HSI research, white papers, and case studies
- Participate as an industry expert in conference presentations and panel discussions with other HSI Board Members and Scientific Advisory Board members. These presentations are not product-specific.
