So many exciting things are happening with the Healthcare Surfaces Summit! As we evolve and take on more projects, felt it was time to refresh our brand and launch a new website. A streamlined new look puts a fresh focus on the important, multi-disciplinary work being done to achieve our mission:

“To reduce preventable infections through the collaboration of industry, academia, science, regulatory, and service sectors by interrupting the transmission of surface-related pathogens in healthcare in support of community health.”

Our initiative groups are active, and we are looking forward to hearing the reports from everyone at the Summit. Each initiative plays an important role in creating solutions that will provide sustainable reductions in healthcare acquired infections. Ultimately reducing risk and improving the quality of care to patients and their families!

The new website serves as a great resource to keep you up-to-date on everything the Summit is doing from research and educational work, to the details of this year’s Summit Event to be held August 21-22, 2018 in Bloomington, MN. Please check back for more information and details!

In the next few months we’ll be introducing new Board Members and staff, confirm Summit Event details, and update the work being done as we move forward with our five-year strategic plan.

It has been an exciting year and we are looking forward to sharing our success at the upcoming Summit. Thank you for your interest and support of the Healthcare Surfaces Summit!

The Healthcare Surfaces Summit (HSS) is a cutting-edge collaboration of thought leaders to evaluate and understand all aspects of the complex role environmental and other surfaces play in transmitting pathogens that cause infection and illness in healthcare settings. Its mission is to reduce preventable infections by mobilizing industry, academia, science, regulatory, and service organizations to reduce the transmission of surface related pathogens. The Healthcare Services Summit has established cross-disciplinary Initiative Workgroups to develop solutions, best practices, and research hypotheses for the development of scientific evidence-based best practice recommendations that support policy and regulatory change. HSS is a nonprofit corporation supported by sponsors, donors and partners.
